Four

The installation in the tower of the All Saints Church in Kamenice nad Lipou in 1998 was subordinated to number 4, the fourth phone “d” of the Hebrew alphabet, the letter dálet symbolizing a door. It is possible to enter or come out of the dálet. The door can be closed or open. If it is open, one can look into another world. The struggle means the world of opposites, life and death, justice and wrongdoing, good and evil. If the door is closed, there is either one or the other. The four elements govern at both sides and their representatives smile in their infinite omniscience.
